What is AIMA?

Australia India Music Awards (AIMA) is an awards ceremony celebrating Indian artists in Australia, fostering careers for talented singers, musicians, and artists. For the very first time, AIMA is being held in Australia, offering an experience never seen before in the country. This marks the inaugural occasion where Indian migrants confer these prestigious awards, honoring “A grade” artists. AIMA aims to engage people from all walks of life, inviting them to join in this extraordinary journey filled with the glamour and glitz of Indian music. We are delighted to have numerous musicians attending the annual awards each year, making it a significant event in the music calendar.

Why we started AIMA

The Australian Indian Music Academy (AIMA) is dedicated to recognizing the passion and talent of Indians in Australia who have kept their artistic abilities hidden. AIMA aims to build careers in the arts, music, and entertainment industry for the Indian diaspora living in Australia. Through our initiatives, we strive to create jobs in the entertainment industry, fostering growth and opportunities for talented individuals within the community

During covid19 pandemic time, as a community initiative, Mr.Agraja has come up with an idea of ” Covid Geethmala” , during April 2020 and during Dec 2020, the name updated the brand name to ” AIMA ( Australia India Music Awards) . The initial purpose was to pass the message of “stay home safe” by encouraging local and international Indian singing talent from 01st April 2020.

This is initiated by our CEO to ensure we contribute our time voluntarily to listeners and music lovers to have some relaxing time as a stress relief while all stay home following our safety rules. Special performer of the day ( certificate) sponsored by EduCATER: Best Performer of the day during online singing events will be awarded with a EduCATER’s certificate as a token of their achievement. Regularly we have met monthly once to take the stress out for fun and music.
